The Commission on Strengthening Local Democracy brought senior councillors, wider civic Scotland, and specific experts together with a common resolve to understand why local services and local accountability matter. It made its final report in August 2014.
However, you did not have to be a Commissioner to have your voice heard. The Commission was set up to listen to any person or organisation about why democracy is important locally and how it might improve.
